Oriented strand board produced by adding adhesives and then compressing layers of wood strands (flakes) in specific orientations.

OSB is an oriented strand board, i.e. a multilayer sheet consisting of wood shavings (thin chips) glued with a special compound. In this case, the chips in the layers have a different orientation: in the outer layers — longitudinal, in the inner — transverse. This is a strong, reliable and environmentally friendly material (formaldehyde emission class E0.5 — formaldehyde-free board).
High-tech processing of wood chips provides OSB boards with the following advantages: dimensional stability and thickness uniformity, resistance to biological damage, long lifetime. In addition, the material is easy to process (easy to cut, glue, drill) and has a high level of fastener retention (due to its high density it perfectly retains wood fasteners: self-tapping screws, nails, staples).
OSB-3 panels belong to the boards that can be load-bearing and used in conditions of humidity (not more than 85%). At the same time, swelling under the influence of water does not exceed 15%. Such panels are the most universal and popular type of OSB sheets.
