Birch Plywood
Composite material manufactured from thin layers, or «plies», of wood veneer that are glued together with adjacent layers, having their wood grain rotated up to 90° to each other.
We offer birch plywood for interior and exterior works. Plywood is a multilayer sheet material made of glued wood veneer. In order to increase strength and stability, the veneer layers are laid in such a way that the wood fibres of adjacent sheets are perpendicular to each other.
Birch plywood is available in 3 variations:
— FC (interior) plywood, where urea resins (environmentally stabilised KF-ES (F) resin) are used as glue,
— FSF plywood (exterior), where formaldehyde resins are used as glue (PRIMERE 14J400 phenol-formaldehyde resin),
— FOF plywood (laminated), the production feature of which is that the sheets of FSF plywood are faced with film material (phenolic film with density of 120 g/m2 or 220 g/m2).
Birch plywood has high strength (bending strength 60 MPa), density (640-700 kg/m3), moisture resistance and stability. Due to physical and mechanical properties of wood and multilayer construction of plywood, the products are able to withstand heavy loads.
Interior plywood (FC) is more environmentally friendly (emission class E1) and has an average moisture resistance index, so it is preferable for indoor work. Exterior plywood (FSF) has a higher moisture resistance index and an average environmental index (emission class E2), so it is more often used for exterior works. Laminated plywood has high resistance to moisture, durability and bio-resistance (no fungus and mould will form on the surface).
